Harrington Aesthetics has carefully chosen Medik8 as our skin care provider. The skin peels will be hand-picked to ensure optimum results for you and your skin. By gently removing the tired, damaged, dead skin cells from the epidermis, it is possible to reveal the naturally glowing, healthy skin it once covered. We include complementary LED therapy in all our peels to give your skin an extra boost. Skin peels aren't a one-size-fits-all procedure. Our specialist aesthetician Emily is highly trained to provide a thorough consultation, in which we will assess your skin and you can discuss your most pressing skin problems. How to decide what treatment ?
Your trained Medik8 therapist will arrange an in-clinic consultation appointment convenient to you, so you can discuss your skin goals together and work out the best in-clinic and at-home regime for you. At this initial consultation, your therapist will talk through their recommended approach to help you meet your skin goals.
What is Medik8 12 Week to Wow ? x6 Medik8 professional peels (spaced 10-14 days apart) and CSA homecare to use twice daily. CSA is our core philosophy for achieving Beautiful Skin for Life: vitamin C plus Sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night.

Why Peels ?
Chemical peels are fast-becoming the number one clinical skin treatment worldwide. At a fraction of the price of laser, they can significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation and blemishes with less discomfort and downtime. Just 45 minutes per visit in the therapist's chair can visibly rejuvenate skin to provide a softer, smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. We recommend a course of peels to really see and feel the difference for the long haul, but sometimes it can be difficult to know where to start. That's why we use the Medik8 12 Weeks to WOW Programme.
What is a chemical peel?

Are peels right for everyone?
Chemical peels are suitable for almost everyone and we have a varied range from our peels for very sensitive skin right through to our peels which use high-strength single acids which can even be layered to target stubborn concerns like pigmentation. Certain skin conditions / clients may need more support to ensure skin is normalised before a course of peels eg those with an impaired skin barrier. Unfortunately, we also do not recommend peels for pregnant or nursing Mums. However, there are lots of other professional facial and body treatment options we offer too - with the incredible results you've come to expect from Medik8 plus beautiful pampering textures and divine fragrances to ensure a very memorable experience.
What is the downtime?
By definition, the application of acids to the skin may cause redness, skin flaking and mild peeling; but every skin is different. We recommend not to wear makeup for the first 12 hours post-peel to ensure the skin remains bacteria-free. You will be recommended a comprehensive aftercare routine to continue with at home to ensure your skin recovers and rejuvenates correctly. As a general rule, expect flaking from around the 3rd day post-peel for a maximum of 5 further days. You should avoid direct sun exposure during these recovery days and always wear a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. We recommend clients go home with our Physical Sunscreen which is a mineral, non-nano, broad spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 which provides great protection and as a mineral sunscreen is very gentle on compromised skin. To keep things simple, we offer a Post-Treatment Kit as part of your peel aftercare, with everything you'll need in 1 pack included
Can I just have a single peel?
It is possible to just have a single peel, but we recommend a course of 6 to really see the long-term skin benefits. It's a little like going to the gym; you can go occasionally but the real results will come when you commit to an ongoing programme. We make starting your peel journey really easy with our Medik8 12 Weeks to WOW programme. We will work with you over a 12 week* period to visibly transform your skin through a bespoke programme of in-clinic treatments and at-home care to achieve skin that really wows. Track your journey with your own 12 Weeks to WOW Skin Passport. This handy record allows you and your therapist to review your progress, give feedback and make changes to your treatment programme in real-time. Making personalisation and two-way conversation means you can get the best results for you. This means you keep progressing and more importantly, it keeps you feeling in control. *Duration may vary based on skin type and condition.
What results can I expect?
24 hours post-peel your skin will likely feel a little tight and appear slightly flushed. Within 3 days your skin will start to flake but within the week you will start to see clearer, more uniform skin tone. Over a course of 6 peels, results will be even more visibly profound. We recommend taking pictures of your progress either on your own phone or many of our clinics have facial imaging equipment that can extensively track your skin's improvement across such parameters as wrinkle depth, clarity, water content etc; dependent on the skin concern you are treating.
